Summer time is coming to an end, and already stores and brands are beginning to change their displays and ads, getting us ready for the upcoming cold seasons… ugghh! I would seriously choose heat, sun, and the beach over cold and winter any day, and I’m sure many of you can relate to this. However, there are always ways to make the coming of the cold seasons more fun, like finding new styles and items to rock over fall and winter.
This fall, it seems like every fashion store has gone wild, and by that I mean with the amount of leopard, cheetah, and zebra items. I personally like this look because it adds a good kick to an plain or all black outfit, perfect for the usual grey and black winter look. With this trend, less is more. A black outfit paired with an wild print bag, shoe, or scarf is just enough. Maybe a clean face and hair with bold red lips also, to add a little extra something to the outfit.
I have recently fallen in love with Rachel Roy’s designs, and I am so happy that they (specifically the Rachel Rachel Roy collection) are still available at Macy’s, because I have not had the chance to try them on and see how they would look on me. I usually have an issue fitting things around my hips, so we will see. But I have a feeling that they will look great. Roy is very beautiful and yet appears to be quite a strong person, and her designs seem to really reflect who she is. In other words, you can easily take a quick look at her and her designs, and see that the designs are like an extension of herself. Also, she wears her designs quite often, and always looks very ladylike. Ok enough with the “she’s beautiful” speech. Plus, Rachel Roy is also involved in charitable work especially with orphans in Africa, and who wouldn’t find that great?!
Many of her pieces would complete a woman’s wardrobe, and give them ‘versatile and special every day to evening’ looks. Her younger looks are also very interesting, which is why someone like me would really be attracted to them. She also has done recent work with graffiti on her designs including outerwear, shoes, and bags.
She recently had a sweepstake of $1000 worth of Rachel Roy designs plus a chance of being styled by her…. I did not win (boo hoooo) how sad but then again there were about 2000 entries. But I encourage anyone to check out her line, and if you have twitter follow her she has pretty interesting posts. Check out her line online at rachelroy.com for prices and shopping online.

I love it when designers do great work and truly understand why they do what they do. Anya Hindmarch is a great British handbag designer whose popularity is still growing (especially in Asia). Her signature black bow logo is quite distinctive and her “I’m not a plastic bag” handbag has sold immensely worldwide; plus she was given an OBE award by the Queen. She praises her brand on the fact that it is ‘special’, it is a niche, and it does not mass advertise even though celebrities wearing her bags have contributed to her risen popularity. Most people who are used to very popular brands, know about the latest Chloe or D&G bag and so on, but with Anya Hindmarch you are not worried that your latest Anya Hindmarch bag will be “so last year” and outdated the next year, well as of now…
She was recently featured on the net-a-porter magazine online. She tells a quick story, from her mother’s love for fashion and the influence it had on her, the fact that she used to make handbags out of papers as a young girl, and at an early age she began to design, construct, and produce fabulous handbags herself. She has understood very early what she calls “the intimate relationship that a woman has with her handbag”, and how a handbag can make a woman feel; light, fabulous, powerful, confident, beautiful, and on top of the world. Just from that perspective, it is sure to say that Anya Hindmarch understands the relationship most women have with their handbags, the feelings they want to get from it, and how to produce the perfect handbag that does exactly that. I agree with her, in fact I never realized this, until I heard her say this in the interview on Net-a-Porter; a woman really has an intimate relationship with her handbag. We carry everything we think is important in it: our money, our makeup, our mini family pictures, our phones, planners, and the list goes on. She is definitely a designer to look at, if you are into chic handbags and certainly into a designer that understands the feeling you want to get from a handbag, Anya Hindmarch is definitely worth checking out!! Her website is http://www.anyahindmarch.com/, and has good sales sometimes (in British pounds).

So there are so many cute, interesting, and also affordable items on Asos.com right now, and I thought I should post about it. I was introduced by a friend to Asos.com and loved it, they have different looks, usually designer inspired and they are most of the time affordable, especially when on sale. I am reassured because if London/UK chicas are shopping online at asos, then their items must be nice. It is always a good idea to wait for their sales, and oohhh a tip when you go to asos.com, watch out for a quick message that pops up before the actual website shows up, because it usually gives a free shipping or discount code, Be quick and watch out for it.

Someone asked me about Khloe Kardashian’s SHOES in the following picture taken on May 26th 2009 in Miami South Beach, as she is there with her sisters (mainly Kourtney Kardashian) to open their second DASH store in Miami; they are also supposed to have a new reality TV show about their new move in August on E! TV. I have to admit they have a great sense of fashion and I wished that their online shopping store would be a lot better, because it really does not offer much shopping variety (you can look at the website shopdashonline.com yourself and be the judge of it). But here are the recent pictures, plus pictures of the shoes, and I also added the bags they are carrying. YOu can always click on the pictures to be directed to the shopping site.

Balenciaga - $1825
Fendi Red Baguette Bag. $2090
Fendi Large Parchment Baguette (black)-$2090
Hope it helps. They are quite pricey, if you are dying to really wear any of these bags, then you can always try bagborroworsteal.com , I have never tried it myself but it is always a cheaper option to wear the bags for a short period of time.
